As one of the world's leading food companies with many international brands, we at Danone are committed to more than just economic success. With our three health-focused business units - Essential Dairy & Plant-Based, Waters and Specialized Nutrition - we pursue the mission of improving the health of as many people as possible through nutrition. Our vision "One Planet. One Health" provides the framework for action. This is based on our conviction that the health of people and the health of the planet are interconnected. We aim to inspire people around the world to adopt healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking habits. At the same time, we are committed to the sustainable protection of natural resources through ecologically responsible business practices.
Our goals by 2030
We see that a "food revolution" is taking place: a movement to promote a moare conscious, sustainable and healthy approach to food along the entire production chain. To accelerate this revolution and create sustainable and profitable value for our consumers, suppliers, employees and society, we have defined nine goals for 2030. These are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and commit us to operating in an efficient, responsible and inclusive way.
Danone is an "Enterprise à Mission"
In addition, we were the first listed company to adopt the French business model of an "Entreprise à Mission," which is inspired by the status of a public-benefit corporation in the USA. For these Corporations, public benefit is a founding purpose in addition to the traditional corporate goal of maximizing profit for shareholders. Therefore, our social, community and environmental goals are embodied in our Articles of Association.
Our commitment is also reflected in our ambition to become one of the first multinational companies to achieve "B Corp" certification globally by 2025. More than 100,000 Danone employees around the world are working toward this goal. They ensure that our products are available in over 120 markets worldwide.
